Sail Release Notes: Version 1.4

Version 1.4: AI Workflow, Smart Reports & Large Document Processing

Focus: Conversational AI, configurable reporting, reliable large-document handling, and richer document data

Major Features:

AI Workflow

  • Chat with Sail to Get Things Done: A new AI Workflow brings a conversational copilot into the app. Start a session, ask it to create or review a declaration, and it walks the steps with you in real time.
  • Live Sessions Across the App: Your AI sessions stay live across tabs and pages, with messages and tool results streaming as work progresses.
  • Attention When You Are Needed: A dot on the AI Workflow nav lights up the moment a session needs human input.
  • Critical Validations in the Sidebar: While a session runs, the sidebar focuses on critical validations only, cutting noise so you can see what blocks progress.
  • One-Click Navigation to a Declaration: When the AI suggests viewing a declaration, the app jumps straight to it without losing your place.
  • Safe Close Confirmations: Closing an active session prompts for confirmation, so you do not lose in-flight work by accident.

Build Your Own Reports

  • Customizable Report Builder: Compose reports from any column you have access to, with totals, formatting, and the ability to save what you build.
  • Per-Column Filters with Chip Bar: Filter any column independently and stack multiple filters via a chip bar. Edit, remove, and combine filters without leaving the table.
  • Column Totals & Formatted Values: Native column totals appear in the table, with proper formatting for currencies, weights, and quantities.
  • Customizable Excel Downloads: Export exactly the columns and filters you have configured. Your Excel file matches your screen.
  • New Team Performance Report: A ready-made report that turns declarations into per-team-member metrics, so you can see who is processing what.
  • Commercial Invoice PDF Report: Generate a clean, shareable commercial invoice PDF straight from your shipment data.

Large Document Handling

  • Massive Packing Lists, Handled: Packing lists with thousands of line items now process reliably. Jobs that used to time out on large documents complete cleanly.
  • Multi-Section Tables: Tables that span multiple sections, each with their own headers and footers, are now read correctly so the right values land in the right rows.

Document Reliability

  • Retry Without Starting Over: When a document fails part-way through processing, you can retry from where it stopped instead of re-uploading and starting again.

Duty Calculation

  • Total Duty in AED Across Currencies: Sail now totals expected duty across every invoice in your declaration, automatically converting from each invoice's currency into AED. Brief your client on what they will owe before submission, no spreadsheet needed.

Email Intelligence

  • AI-Drafted Correction Emails: When validations flag an issue with the data your client sent, Sail can draft a correction email back to them, citing the specific lines and values that need fixing. Review, edit, and send.

Document Power-Ups

  • Letter of Credit Expanded: Two new fields, including expiry date and last shipment date, ready to be validated against your declaration.
  • Certificate of Origin: Total, Net & Gross Weight: Total, net, and gross weight are now extracted from Certificates of Origin, feeding straight into your weight reconciliation.
  • HS Code Summary, Richer: Additional fields on the HS code summary, including issued date, give you a fuller picture without leaving the page.
  • SAD Improvements: Incoterms now flow into the SAD, with refined totals to match.
  • Custom Status Colors for Shipments: Shipment status cells now support custom colors, so your team's conventions are visible in the grid.

Smarter Imports

  • Deselect Duplicate Docs on Create: When creating a declaration, duplicates from your selection are automatically deselected, building on the duplicate detection introduced in 1.0.
